Welcome to 4th Grade!

About me: I am Olivia Wernecke and I am a 4th grade teacher at Central Grade School. This is my 6th year teaching, and I absolutely love it. I am here to help foster your student's individualized learning needs, so that they are able to reach their highest potential. I am 26 years old, I have 2 dogs (Bean and Stu), and I love to travel. I have worked at 3 different schools in DPS#61 and I am Upper Elementary Montessori certified through the North American Montessori Center. One thing I really focus on in the classroom is getting students "world-ready" and capable of being successful in the real world whether it is through entering the work force right away, going to trade school, or enrolling in College. The skills they will learn with me in 4th grade will be life-long skills.

There is a classroom economy in 4th Grade! Students pay bills, have jobs, and pay taxes. They learn how to spend their money wisely, if they choose to spend it on things they don't need and not save it, they may wind up without a chair or desk though. If you can't pay your bills you get an alternative seat on the floor with a clipboard! Also be aware of the IRS when paying your taxes, you don't want to get audited!

The homework page is updated weekly with the student's weekly work plans, objectives, as well as any due dates that are approaching. I grade projects and assignments fairly quickly so check the grade book online if you have questions on scores.
